Fall Waterfowl Banding Program ends

With winter quickly approaching, our Fall Waterfowl Banding Program has come to an end. Over 500 middle school students along with their teachers participated in this program, helping us band and release over 250 ducks. To see the students in action, have a look at the visiting schools in the photo gallery.

Grade 10 Teacher Workshop

TWC hosts a Grade 10 Teacher Workshop. Thirty-five New Brunswick teachers were invited to our Centre to look at how wetlands can be used to teach the concept of sustainable ecosystems. With the help of LSF, DU, NBWF and our own Wetheads, this workshop was a great success! Check out all the day’s action in the photo gallery.

Open House

TWC and its Wetheads hosted its first Open House! We celebrated 5 years of Experience Wetlands Education Programs, dedicated our newly completed teaching theatre and most importantly recognized the role played by our partners and sponsors in the success of this project. With the help of Port Elgin Regional School, our visitors had a chance to see The Wetlands Through Waterfowl Banding program in action. We would like to thank everyone for attending and helping make this day such a memorable one. Have a look!

Education Summer Institute

August 20 - 21, 2003

TWC hosts a Dept. of Education Summer Institute at the Jolicure Lakes Field Station. Ten New Brunswick teachers were invited to join staff from Ducks Unlimited Canada, The Canadian Wildlife Service, Learning for a Sustainable Future and TWC for 2 days of outdoor activities taking place deep in the Tintamarre National Wildlife Area. Check out all the action in the photo gallery.

Summer 2003

Through the hard work of 3 summer interns, TWC completed another busy summer of research, habitat enhancement and educational programming for visitors. In addition to offering its hands-on programs on a daily basis to local groups and tourists, TWC hosted Communities in Bloom entourage, provided a special evening of activities for over 100 teachers attending Contact 2003, a national conference for middle school teachers, and delivered a special presentation on habitat restoration to a group from Dalhousie University.
